Thank you to everyone who came out to support us at the Bolton Canopy on Saturday 4th September. We raised a fabulous £960.10 to help us with the rising costs of vet bills and feeding all the animals in our care.
We couldn't do it without you. Thank you.

MANCHESTER RUN.
We are very grateful to both the following people who did the Manchester Run and raised sponsorship money for Pet Rehome.
Poor Karen fell a few days before the run but still went ahead despite the pain and raised £130 ...
Hi Kathy,
Okay for the first mile. It was all going well and then I felt a tear in my calf and then hobbled and cried the rest of the route. I was so so disappointed and after all the training I was really emotional too. My leg is really sore but as Ronnie said I did it and finished. The good news is I am definately doing it again next year so I will look after the T-shirt. I have a bee in my bonnet and I have got to beat my times over the last 4 years.
Karen x
Paul did the Manchester run knocking 8 minutes off his record in 2008. Paul said he was well pleased with his time and more than happy to
have helped the charity with their good work. Paul raised £108.
Thank you Karen and Paul.
We are very grateful for your efforts on behalf of all the animals in our care.
SAM'S STORY.
Sam, an 8 1/2 year old Springer Spaniel cross Border Collie, was adopted from a dogs' home in Manchester and after a few months was re-homed to an elderly gentleman in Bolton as the family thought he would benefit from a one-to-one relationship.
Unfortunately Sam ran away on his first day in his new home and that
was in October 2009 and until today 3rd March 2010 Sam had been
running wild.
I received a call from a lady on the 12th February. She had seen Sam
for a few weeks scavaging for food and, being concerned and feeling
sorry for him, decided to contact us as no one else would help her.
After some investigation I uncovered Sam's story and asked the
Bolton News to do a feature on Sam asking their readers to try and
map Sam's activities. We were amazed by the public response and
had dozens of phone calls. Unfortunately Sam was too frightened
to be caught and despite many attempts he was still running wild.
I had seen Sam in Bromley Cross in December and again in February.
He had also been sighted in Westhoughton and all over Bolton.
To my amazement and in answer to my prayers Sam actually came to
my house last night at 9.30pm and allowed me to catch him. Do you
think he knew we were trying to help him?
Sam is now back with the people who adopted him from the kennels
and who said they will never let him go again.

Oh Happy Days.
SAM'S ADVENTURE CONTINUES.
I went to see Sam in his own home a month ago. He was so happy and looked a million dollars. I do believe he remembered me as he stared intently into my eyes as if to say, "Was it you who caught me"?
Sam's was such an amazing story of survival that I could not get him out of my mind.
Becky and I keep in touch and today I received this lovely photograph so wanted to share it with all the kind people that took so much interest in Sam's story.

DAVE HELPS FIND HOMES FOR OLDER DOGS.
This is from the Bolton News
9:20am Thursday 2nd April 2009
Dave Spikey is trying to find these older dogs a loving home as patron of animal adoption charity Pet Rehome.
The Farnworth-born comedian has always been fond of man's best friend, and he and his wife, Kay, have taken in several older dogs over many years, as elder pets often get overlooked.
Trixie, aged nine, and six-year-old Kim are desperate for a caring environment to grow old in.
Kathy Walton, chairman of Pet Rehome, is urging people to give the dogs a home. She said, "Ideally we would prefer to home
Trixie and Kim together as they do love each other's company,
but we would consider homing them separately only if absolutely necessary."
If you would like to adopt a dog or cat from Pet Rehome contact
01204 304679.
PET REHOME WOULD, ONCE AGAIN, LIKE TO THANK DAVE FOR HIS
CONTINUED SUPPORT.
