GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION 20 (GDPR)
PRIVACY POLICY
PET REHOME Registered Charity No 1095060
The new GDPR came into effect 25th May 2018. This Act obliges all organisations (including charities) to produce a Privacy Policy which must be available to the general public - the Policy to explain how we collect, secure and use your information.
The personal information Pet Rehome receives basically falls into 2 categories:
1. Animal rescue and rehoming (our core business)
2. Fundraising
1. ANIMAL RESCUE & REHOMING
When forms are filled in on our website personal information is required : (name/address/telephone numbers/email address and possibly photographs). These relate to those interested in (a) adopting an animal or (b) requesting our help in rehoming an animal.
(a) This information is shared only with our team to progress the potential adoption or in some cases private owners wanting to home their pets direct from their own home referred to as : (Home to Home animals)
(b) With owner's permission, this information may be shared with other Rescue organisations in a position to assist in the rehoming.
Should the animal be passed to another Rescue, then this organisation will be responsible for the security of the owner's information.
When an adoption is agreed, a contract (Homing Form) is completed and signed by both parties. A copy of this is filed by the Charity and kept indefinitely.
The adopter's details will also be used on the certificate of microchipping to be sent to the chip provider for entry into their database. This organisation will then be responsible for the security of the information.

We do not mail strangers soliciting donations.
c. Gift Aid
Gift Aid signed forms are kept on a manual file by the Treasurer. We must of course send details of those supporters to
